Act of Deception Book Review from @kleffnotes

In the sequel to John Bishop’s first Doc Brady mystery, Act of Deception examines whether something is either medical malpractice or if an attorney is an ambulance chaser. In 19995 Dr. Jim Bob Brady finds himself in a terrible position when a case is brought forward against him. This new story blends medical and legal thriller into a mystery that will keep you on your toes.

A mysterious infection has resulted in an amputation for a former patient of Brady’s who is being represented by the ruthless attorney Donovan Shaw. While he might be friends or at least share friends with Brady, Shaw does not care what happens to the two of them over the course of this case. Brady is not the only one who finds himself being sued and he wants to know just how Shaw is finding out all of this information. He will have to go into “sleuth mode” in order to find out the truth. His life will be put in jeopardy, but will he find out the truth behind the case against him?

John Bishop again does a strong job of taking his knowledge of the medical world and using it to create a story that thriller fans will enjoy. I found myself again drawing connections to John Grisham, as I did with the previous book, as I was reading this sequel. Shaw makes for a powerful opponent and Brady is able to work against him for the truth in a way that will resonate with readers. If you are looking for a read that will have you thinking then this is a book that you will enjoy. You can pre-order your copy of Act of Deception today.
